The crisis enveloping New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ administration deepened as an aide was charged with witness tampering and destruction of evidence and a former Fire Department official pleaded guilty to a bribery conspiracy charge.

Mohamed Bahi, who worked in the mayor’s office of community affairs, was accused of instructing witnesses to lie to federal authorities.

A former city official under Mayor Eric Adams was arrested Tuesday and charged with witness tampering and destruction of records as part of a federal probe into alleged illegal contributions solicited on the mayor’s behalf during his last campaign.
