Storm Ashley brought high winds and rain to several parts of west and northern Scotland on Sunday

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning ahead of Storm Ashley for the north-west of Scotland on Sunday, as well as a yellow warning for the entirety of Scotland and Northern Ireland, and parts of north-west England and Wales. The amber warning will be in force from 9am on Sunday until midnight, and the yellow between 3am and midnight.

More than 100 flood warnings remained in place across the UK on Monday after Storm Ashley made its presence felt.

An amber high wind warning covers some western areas of Scotland, as well as the north and west of Northern Ireland, with gusts of 70-81 mph (113-130km/h) recorded. The amber warning lasts until midnight in Scotland and and 20:00 in Northern Ireland.

A yellow rain warning is in place across Devon and Cornwall due to Storm Ashley. The Met Office warning, currently in place until midday, includes strong winds and heavy rain, with Dartmoor forecast to be among the worst affected areas It said bus and train services will likely be impacted,

Storm Ashley, the first named storm of the season, has unleashed powerful winds and heavy rain across parts of the UK. The Met Office has issued multiple warnings, highlighting the risk of severe injuries and danger to life,

A yellow alert for strong winds is in place from 12am to 9am on Monday. The Met Office warns that strong winds from Storm Ashley may bring further impacts across the north and east of Scotland and northeast England before it moves away.

In a dire warning the Met Office said 'injuries and danger to life are likely' as the nation is lashed by the huge storm.
