In a new confrontation, Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi walked out of the state assembly, protesting the absence of the national anthem at the session's start. This is the third instance of such protest by the governor.

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi refused to deliver his customary address to the Assembly today and walked out in protest of the National Anthem not being sung at the beginning of the address. As per tradition,

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin accused Governor RN Ravi of breaching constitutional protocol after he walked out of the assembly without delivering his address due to the omission of the National Anthem.

RN Ravi alleged that the state assembly “disrespected” the national anthem by refusing to play it before the state anthem.

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi walked out of the Assembly on Monday, after the National Anthem was not played following the rendition of the Tamil Thai Vazhthu (Tamil Invocation Song). The incident unfolded during the Governor's customary address to the House at the commencement of the Assembly session.

Governor R N Ravi exits Tamil Nadu legislative assembly within minutes after his request to sing the national anthem is refused by CM M K Stalin and Speaker M Appavu. The assembly later disregards the governor's remarks and circulates his printed address,

Raj Bhawan said that upon the arrival of the Governor in the Assembly, only 'Tamil Tai Vazhdu' was played and not the National Anthem.
