Over 15 lakh people from various parts of Chennai and neighbouring districts throng the shores of Marina and its neighbourhoods on Sunday (October 6, 2024) to witness the spectacular air show of the Indian Air Force (IAF),

Several persons fainted and emergency workers carried them in stretches and provided care in shelters. Over 30 people were rushed to nearby government hospitals with symptoms of dehydration.

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said that full administrative cooperation of the state government was extended to successfully conduct the Indian Air Force Air Adventure Program at Chennai.

Those who lost their lives following the incident were identified as Srinivasan (48) from Perungalathur, Karthikeyan (34) from Thiruvottiyur, and John (56) from Korukuppet.

A total of 230 people fainted due to the tiring conditions, out of which 93 were admitted to the nearby hospital
