"We suspect there will be another attempt for a tropical depression or tropical storm to brew in the western Caribbean during the middle to the latter part of next week," said Bernie Rayno, AccuWeather chief on-air meteorologist. The next named storms of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season will be Patty and Rafael.

ORLANDO, Fla. - On Monday evening, Tropical Storm Oscar was over Cuba’s eastern coast, bringing strong winds and rain. Oscar was moving toward the north-northwest near 7 mph and a turn toward the north-northeast was expected overnight, followed by a faster northeastward motion on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The storm’s forecast track poses no threat to Florida. Oscar formed Saturday off the coast of the Bahamas and brushed past the Turks and Caicos islands to the south. The National Hurricane Center earlier characterized the storm as “tiny,” but hurricane warnings were in place Sunday for southeastern Bahamas and portions of Cuba.
