The race for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League final looks set to be another fascinating battle amongst Europe's elite.The expanded format of the tournament has meant changes to how teams qualify for the knockout rounds with more games added to the league phase and the creation of Round of 16 playoffs for teams finishing outside the top eight of the league standings.

The UEFA Champions League round of 16, quarterfinal and semifinal draws took place on Friday as Europe's leading soccer competition takes its final form for this season. The top eight teams from the league phase led by Liverpool and Barcelona qualified automatically for the round of 16 while eight teams have emerged from the knockout round playoffs which are part of this year's new format.

The UCL reverts back to its ‘traditional’ format, with the bracket for the last 16, quarterfinals and semifinals to be decided.
