Amazon’s newest location will serve as a rapid delivery warehouse where many items will be available to customers within 5 hours.

Amazon said on Wednesday it would be expanding its national pharmacy network next year, which would allow it to reach nearly half of U.S. residents for same-day delivery of prescriptions. The expansion by the Seattle-based retailer comes as other national pharmacy chains such as Walgreens,

Amazon Pharmacy is expanding its same-day delivery service to 20 more U.S. cities next year, the company announced on Wednesday. Amazon says the expansion will more than double the number of cities where customers can get same-day delivery of their medications.

Now Amazon has horned in on the I-need-it-fast market by bringing same-day delivery to the Treasure Valley. The online retailer has opened a 165,000-square-foot warehouse in northeast Nampa near Saint Alphonsus Medical Center that uses cutting-edge automation technologies and robotics to rapidly process customers’ orders and send them out for delivery.
