Spotify has announced a new feature called Offline Backup, which keeps you connected to your music even without an internet connection.

Spotify has added a new feature that automatically generates an offline playlist for you based on your listening habits. Announced by the audio streaming company on Thursday, the "Offline Backup" feature operates in addition to downloads on the platform (when you can download music, podcasts, or audiobooks for offline listening).

The Offline Backup playlist appears automatically in your Home feed whenever Spotify detects you’re offline, although you can add it to your library for easier access. Since it can get unwieldy for those with varied and eclectic musical tastes, Spotify lets you filter and sort it by artist, mood, or genre.

The music service will create a playlist of tracks already in your cache and make it accessible when you're offline.
