Detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office arrested a 38-year-old Santa Rosa man Monday for allegedly killing his 80-year-old father.

A caller told dispatchers about 8:30 a.m. Sunday that the man had threatened to kill neighbors with a hammer, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

After a family member asked deputies to check on Allen Phillips, he was found dead in his home with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The Santa Rosa Police Department is investigating a suspected homicide after a woman was found with significant injuries on a sidewalk Monday, SRPD said. The woman was found unresponsive by arriving officers on Whitewood Drive,

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WALA) - The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 77 year old woman from Milton, Florida, was killed in a traffic accident in Santa Rosa County Saturday afternoon. The FHP says a Chevrolet SUV was traveling westbound on Old Bagdad Highway and east of Oak Forest Drive.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene in the 4300 block of Hoen Avenue after police responded about 9:25 p.m. to a reported disturbance at an apartment, police Sgt. Patricia Seffens told The Press Democrat Sunday.
