An October day in Las Vegas resembled more of a July day in Scotland, sans the rain, which wouldn’t have mattered much if that day didn’t also happen to be when the second round of the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open was schedule for TPC Summerlin.

Gale-force winds created unplayable conditions during the second round of the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas.

The PGA Tour fall schedule continued this week as the Shriners Children’s Open kicked off Thursday. However, high winds caused first-round play to be postponed. Play resumed early Friday morning, but the winds did not dissipate as expected.

Joel Dahmen is calling it quits ahead of Friday’s second round of the Shriners Children’s Open. He decided to withdraw a little before 10 a.m. PT. The day before, the PGA Tour assessed Dahmen with a four-stroke penalty.
