Two people suspected of having the potentially lethal Marburg virus have tested negative, according to a Thursday statement from the city of Hamburg's social welfare office. They traveled to Germany from Rwanda.

Parts of Hamburg’s main train station were cordoned off on Wednesday afternoon over two train passengers suspected of carrying the highly lethal Marburg virus.

Medical tests came back negative for two people in Hamburg feared to have the Marburg virus, the German authorities said on Thursday, a day after they were taken to hospital on fears they were infected with the life-threatening haemorrhagic fever.
