Clyde Edwards-Helaire did not remain without an NFL team for long. The former Kansas City Chiefs running back signed with the New Orleans Saints practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday. The Chiefs cut Edwards-Helaire on Monday, and he cleared waivers. He joins the team from his home state.

Edwards-Helaire broke into the NFL with the Chiefs as their first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and he ended up winning a pair of Super Bowls with them. However, he hasn't played a snap this season, and he ended up getting released on Tuesday with the team needing to create a roster spot.
