Junior doctors in Kolkata have started an indefinite hunger strike over the RG Kar rape and murder case, demanding justice and reforms in medical college committees. They accuse state authorities of obstructing their protest and are calling for increased police protection and the removal of the health secretary.

The doctors said that they would continue to perform their duties but would not eat anything until their demands were met.
