Both drivers and three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. One passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - A crash investigation is underway after several people died in Clermont County early Sunday morning. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, it happened at 2580 State Route 28 in Pleasant Plain just before 2 a.m.

The crash occurred between two vehicles on state Route 28 at Edenton Pleasant Plain Road in Goshen Township at approximately 1:43 a.m.

OSHP said Mathew Penny, 25, was driving a 2005 Chrysler 300 — which had three other occupants — northeast on State Route 28 around 1:45 a.m. when he struck 43-year-old Dustin McDole's 2007 Subaru Legacy — which had one other occupant — that was being driven northwest on Edenton Pleasant Plain Road.
