Former Patriots DB Jason McCourty made a bold prediction ahead of Bill Belichick's first season as the football coach at UNC.

The Tar Heels’ new football coach skipped the Fenway Bowl to use his time on roster management and setting up recruiting weekends.

Reidsville High School (N.C.) running back Jariel Cobb revealed his pledge to new UNC football head coach Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels on Monday afternoon. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior, who had been committed to Air Force since July, received an offer from Belichick & Co. just over a week ago while on an official visit in Chapel Hill.

The month of January is finally here as the calendar has flipped to 2025 and with that, a new era of North Carolina Tar Heels' football is here under Bill Belichick. The head coach is wasting no time making an impact with his new program,

Now that North Carolina is through their 2024 season following a 27-14 loss to UConn in the Fenway Bowl, the Bill Belichick era is officially off and running.

On Monday, Belichick shared his wish list for Santa on Instagram — a little late but still telling. He asked Santa for "great players who want to help me build a winning program at UNC," mentioning his DMs are open. Belichick also asked for "UNC alumni, fans, and supporters who want to help me build a winning football program at UNC."

While we're still currently in the midst of Bowl Season, there isn't more excitement and anticipation surrounding one college football program – outside of the CFP – than the North Carolina Tar Heels.
