In a landmark decision announced by Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko on Thursday, supermarket giants Albertsons and Vons have consented to a $3.96 million settlement following allegations of false advertising and consistent pricing inaccuracies.

The complaint alleged that customers were charged more than the lowest advertised or posted prices on items. Albertsons also had issues with inaccurate weights on labels, which meant certain items had less product inside packages than was expected,
