NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said she has ordered more officers to patrol the subway trains and platforms following the "terrifying acts of random violence."

While overall crime in the city edged down 3% in 2024, city and police officials said Monday that they plan to put 200 more police officers on trains and platforms in order to make New Yorkers feel safer,

Subway is rolling out two new sandwiches and a new Meal of the Day deal, for customers looking to spend $6.99 on a 6-inch sub meal or grab a footlong meal for $9.99 — with a different sandwich available for the meal each day of the week.

“Subway’s new Meal of the Day showcases the variety of better for you ingredients across our entire menu, our signature subs, and our definition of value – where you shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality for an affordable price,” Doug Fry, president of Subway North America, said in the release.
