Police say that five people are dead after a crash in Clermont County early Sunday morning. It happened on State Route 28, near Edenton Pleasant Plain Road, at approximately 1:43 a.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and says two vehicles,

Both drivers and three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. One passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

OSHP said Mathew Penny, 25, was driving a 2005 Chrysler 300 — which had three other occupants — northeast on State Route 28 around 1:45 a.m. when he struck 43-year-old Dustin McDole's 2007 Subaru Legacy — which had one other occupant — that was being driven northwest on Edenton Pleasant Plain Road.
