Srinagar turned into a winter wonderland as the city receives fresh snowfall on January 06. This season valley has received good snowfall which has boosted tourism. Residents wearing heavy layers of clothing and sitting with bonfire to keep warm in snow.

Snowfall was seen in several areas of Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara districts in north Kashmir and some parts of Budgam and Ganderbal districts in central Kashmir in the morning

Bone-chilling cold continued across Kashmir on Friday as dense fog made pedestrian and traffic movement difficult in the morning in J&K’s Srinagar city. A thick blanket of fog covered Srinagar city and suburban areas as the unabated cold continued.

Normal life was thrown out of gear in Kashmir as most areas of the valley received snowfall, disrupting flight and railway operations and also leading to the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
