San Diego FC expects the largest crowd in Snapdragon Stadium history for the team's inaugural home opener Saturday.

Bruno Meli, the team's senior vice president of corporate strategy, licensing and retail, said the support from fans has been overwhelming, even before the game against the Galaxy.

After a stunning win against the Los Angeles Galaxy in its Major League Soccer debut, San Diego FC is set to make its first-ever appearance on the club's home turf on Saturday.

When Don Garber was named Major League Soccer’s commissioner in 1999, the league consisted of 12 teams. The Mutiny, MetroStars, Fusion, Burn and Clash, among others, settled ties with 35-yard shootouts.

“And then we have a fanfest starting at 3:30, and that will go all the way to 6:30, with live music, all kinds of activation from our partners, some things for kids, beer garden for the adults, merchandise will be open,” Campos said. Fans who want to avoid traffic can rideto the game with spirit by taking the Trolley to Snapdragon Stadium.
