Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned on Sunday that regional challenges could lead to "unbearable" economic pressure on the population and a review of internationally-demanded economic reforms.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi highlighted on Sunday 20/10/2024 Egypt’s program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), noting that the country may “review the situation” with global lender if the ongoing challenges pose unbearable burden on the public.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned on Sunday Egypt may be forced to re-evaluate its $8 billion programme with the IMF if international institutions do not take into account the extraordinary regional challenges the country is facing.
