MSG and Altice USA, the parent company of Optimum, are embroiled in a dispute that is screwing over customers — and there is no resolution in sight. Optimum dropped MSG Networks on Jan. 1 after their existing deal expired,

MSG Networks, the regional channel that airs local games for New York teams including the Knicks, went dark for Altice USA's Optimum cable TV customers.

MSG Network is a regional cable and satellite TV network that produces sports programming for the New York Knicks and Rangers.

As of January 1, Optimum cable subscribers no longer have access to MSG Network. It’s a major blow to New York sports fans, as the network carries some of the biggest teams in the area, among them the New York Rangers and the New York Knicks, who are currently on a nine-game winning streak.

Knicks, Rangers, Islanders and Devils fans are losing access to games in the tri-state area as MSG and Optimum clash over pricing and programming.

Neither side is willing to budge over the carriage fees paid by Optimum parent Altice to broadcast MSG Networks, which is run by Knicks and Rangers owner James Dolan.

Altice USA Inc. dropped MSG Networks from its Optimum cable-TV lineup on New Year’s Day, meaning subscribers in the New York area can’t watch games from teams such as the Knicks and Rangers.
