ANN ARBOR — In danger of a second straight loss and first home defeat all season, Michigan went on a 9-0 run over the final 1:42 to beat Penn State on Monday night. Tre Donaldson’s step-back 3 with 24 seconds left was the game-winner. The point guard bounced back from a rough performance in a big way to carry the Wolverines.

The Penn State men’s basketball team hits the road in Big Ten Conference play for a Monday night matchup in Ann Arbor with the No. 21 Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan men's basketball will hope to right some wrongs on Monday night when the Wolverines hit the hardwood for another Big Ten Conference game. The maize and blue will host Penn State who has lost four of its last five games.

The Wolverines have lost two of their past three games, including a 27-point shellacking suffered at the hands of the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday. As a result, Michigan (14-5 overall, 6-2 Big Ten) has fallen out of the latest Associated Press Top 25 rankings.

Both Michigan basketball teams fell out of the AP Top 25 after lopsided losses this weekend.

Michigan State ascended to its highest ranking in the AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll this season on Monday with a move up one spot to No. 7 after another perfect week in Big Ten play. The Spartans went 2-0 on the week with wins over Illinois and Rutgers to improve to 8-0 in conference play.
