Apple is planning to open four new retail stores in India and has begun manufacturing the iPhone 16 Pro models domestically, the company said as it deepens its presence in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.

Apple is gearing up to open four more Apple Stores in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. As of now, the timeline isn't clear.

Apple has no plans to shift its production away from India, as the Hosur incident has not impacted its operations, with sufficient stockpiles in place.

Apple declared that it would be opening four more retail locations in India, including ones in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O’Brien, commended the ingenuity and fervor of Indian consumers while expressing excitement about the company’s planned expansion into the country.

With the addition of new stores and locally made iPhone models, Apple is poised to tap further into India's growing demand for premium smartphones. Sources suggest that supplies of the high-end 'Made in India' iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models will be available for purchase later this month.
