Four people were displaced after a multi-unit home in Algiers Point caught fire on Saturday night, the New Orleans Fire Department said. NEW ORLEANS — Firefighters in New Orleans battled a 2-alarm house fire Saturday night in Algiers. It happened at about 9:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Vallette Street.

Officials say the two-story home contained three separate apartment units. Nobody was injured, but four people are now without homes. Firefighters rescued two cats from the burning building.
