The Villa Vie Odyssey is finally underway after passengers were frustrated by months of delays and a “paperwork” issue that stalled them just miles into the voyage.

A cruise ship taking passengers on a 3 ½-year around-the-world voyage has finally sailed from Belfast, after spending four months stuck in the Northern Ireland capital.

A cruise ship stranded in Belfast for the past four months has finally left Belfast Lough. Villa Vie Residences' Odyssey, which was being fitted out in the city, should have departed in May but was delayed as it needed repairs.

The former Fred. Olsen Cruise ship was hampered by yet another delay as it dropped anchor just outside port at around 11:30 p.m. on Monday due to outstanding “paperwork.”
