Family members remembered five people killed in a two-car crash in Clermont County on Sunday while the Ohio State Highway Patrol continued investigating the incident. One victim remains in critical condition.

Among them was Penny and his two passengers, 18-year-old Clermont High Junior Dezmen Jernigan and 20-year-old daycare worker Chloe Love. A third passenger, 18-year-old Ayden Taylor, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

OSHP said Mathew Penny, 25, was driving a 2005 Chrysler 300 — which had three other occupants — northeast on State Route 28 around 1:45 a.m. when he struck 43-year-old Dustin McDole's 2007 Subaru Legacy — which had one other occupant — that was being driven northwest on Edenton Pleasant Plain Road.
5 people dead following Clermont County crash identified
Clermont County Coroner's Office said Mathew Penny, 25, Dustin McDole, 43, Chloe Love, 19, Dezmen Jernigan, 18, and Andrea Iery, 42, were all pronounced deceased on the scene. One other person was taken to UC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

It happened on State Route 28, near Edenton Pleasant Plain Road, at approximately 1:43 a.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and says two vehicles, a 2005 Chrysler 300 and a 2007 Subaru Legacy, were involved.
