Does the Guided Castle House Tour (50 min long) also include the apartments that you would see on the self guided tour or is it just a tour of the additional behind the scenes rooms?

The guided tour takes you to several extra rooms as well as the main hall and library which you can see on your own.
Q:
How long do we need to visit?
A:
If you take the tour and take the time to look at the original Roman wall foundations, no more than 2 hours.

Is the castle open in autumn? Planning a trip in October. And do I need to pre-book tickets?
A:
I pre-booked. Not sure it is required but the website states, “Please note that Castle Key and Annual Pass holders do not need to book tickets.”

A:
You can purchase it online or purchase tickets there itself. Entry to the gardens is free anyways.
