A major continual battle/battle staging will prevent the player from exploring all the map right away - the player will be black and the first chapter the character will be enlisted in the union army (not just unlisted but rather you enter his story as he is travels with his company).

WEBIt's a multi billion dollar franchise. There will, without a doubt, be another one sooner or later. It's just speculation, it'll be years after GTA6 until we potentially hear something about Red Dead 3. Rdr2 and rdr1 are some of the best selling video games ever of course there will be another one eventually.

The political instability during that era and new in-game locations based off Central Mexico (Mexico state, Morelos, Hidalgo) El Bajio (Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, SLP, Guanajuato) and the western coast (Nayarit, Jalisco, Michoacan) would make a really interesting follow-up to the franchise.
