How often to replace CO2 cartridge on inflatable life jacket?
WEBOct 5, 2023 · We already know a good chunk of the population doesn’t ever wear a life jacket. I would not trip in the BWCA without a working lifejacket. Not a chance. I’m probably more risk averse than others. I will never understand the logic of people that never wear one, especially with how comfortable some of them are these days. life is too precious.

WEBFeb 1, 2018 · Might not be a good idea to store your inflatable vest in a boat storage compartment for a long time, there is moisture that is trapped below the deck and I have had one pop after being stored there for a long period. I now keep my newer hydrostatic vest in the truck – put it on when boat is going fishing. Regular vests are stored below deck.

Last I heard there will only be “wearable” PFD’s. In the past, a type III was inherently buoyant, like the foam PFD. A Type V was the inflatable.

Good advice given to you so far. the Mustang brand is quite good. and do be sure and get a PFD up to your weight.

WEBApr 30, 2015 · Normally if a person is getting wet they would want to have some type of jacket on. Nothing can be worn over an inflatable. If it would discharge it could prevent a person from breathing. Float-Techs can be purchased with an “outer shell” that’s made for the vest. The shell will expand if the vest inflates.
